Plans are in place for our 4th Irish Traditional Music Summer Camp which this year will be taking place from the 23rd July to the 26th July inclusive. Our BIG news this year is that we will be running 2 camps.
Our Tutors are qualified ,professional musicians, who have taught and toured extensively. The first camp is suitable for young learners from 6 years to 12 years of age. No previous experience is required as this camp is geared towards children having the opportunity to experiment with various instruments, sing songs, do some art associated with music and dance. They will also learn tunes on their own instrument plus tin whistles. As usual a concert will be held on Friday featuring the young learners. Instruments catered for will be fiddle, harp, flute, and tin whistle, banjo, guitar and mandolin, piano accordian and keyboard, button box and concertina, drum and bodhrán.
This year we are also running a further camp for learners from 12 years to 18 years, who would like to play traditional music in a group setting. This will also be led by our professional musicians. This session will be of an hour and a half duration. Knowledge of Traditional music will be required for this portion of the camp.
Further details, including cost, details of Tutors and application forms for of these camps will be available after Easter Holidays.
Watch out for details of an exciting night of music during the week of the camp.
